About Beatriz Gerenstein
born in Argentina and lives and works in Miami, USA.
Her sculptures are quickly gaining significant attraction of the public. Being unknown 10 years ago, she just participated in the exhibition Personal Structures in the context of the 56th Venice Biennale, the 12th Havana Biennial, had a solo exhibition at the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas in Havana, Cuba and now in the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale.
BEATRIZ GERENSTEIN’S SCULPTURES COULD BE DEFINED BY HER JOURNEY TO EXPLORE THE DAILY ANXIETIES OF THE HUMAN BEING. IN THE WORLD WE LIVE IN, FULL OF WARS, SELFISHNESS, VIOLENCE, POLITICAL CYNICISM, GREED AND CONSTANT THREATS TO THE ENVIRONMENT. BEATRIZ GERENSTEIN HAS CHOSEN THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN.
Her sculptures talk about the human condition, love, friendship, anguish, pleasure, joy, pain and spirituality.
In Gerenstein words:
“We could struggle a lifetime attempting to change reality, to modify it, trying to break and transcend the limits imposed by the space- time. Maybe the happiness we all are looking for is not at the end of the journey but in the process, the work that takes to get there.”
