Zlozower has become one of the most sought-after photographers in the business. Over the years he has shot music icons like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Michael Jackson. He's photographed bands such as Motley Crue and Van Halen as early in their careers to when they made their way to the top of the charts.
After starting his career as a glorified fan—shooting concert photos with a Honeywell Pentax H3V that his father bought in an East LA pawnshop—Neil Zlozower swiftly moved into the world of professional music photography, becoming one of the most sought-after photographers in the industry. His iconic photos helped shape the rock and roll landscape for nearly five decades, appearing on the covers of every major music magazine, as well as being featured on countless album jackets, advertising campaigns and across other media.
A number of books have been published illustrating the impact and scope of Neil’s artistry, including Six-String Heroes: Photographs of Great Guitarists and Fuck You: Rock and Roll Portraits, as well as “visual histories” of his ongoing relationships with Van Halen (1978-1984) and Mötley Crüe (1983-2005). From his studio in Los Angeles, “Zloz” continues to capture the attitude that is at the core of rock ’n’ roll, endlessly expanding his extensive archives and firmly cementing his status as one of the greatest music photographers of all time.
